Multicultural Tourism & Development Department

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is the "Official Sales & Marketing Organization of Greater Miami and the Beaches."  Our business is about selling Greater Miami and the Beaches as a premier convention and leisure travel destination. 

We are currently seeking a Microsoft Office Suite savvy Administrative Assistant to provide support to our Multicultural Tourism & Development Department (MTDD). The selected hire will be fully engaged and busy from the first day.

  • Responsibilities / Requirements

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality is essential
  • Arrival at 8:30 a.m. sharp
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Adaptive and collaborative nature
  • Coordinating management-related activities for the Vice President, MTDD to include:
  • Calendar management - appointment scheduling, monitoring and follow-up
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations for management meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up to date computer files, cataloges and resource database, including quarterly newsletter and media clippings
  • Compose memorandums, letters, emails, reports and forms with spelling and grammatical accuracy
  • Ability to correctly type 50 wpm
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with superb accuracy
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Organizational skills to successfully manage priorities and tasks, and meet self-imposed and externally set deadlines
  • Analyze and resolve administrative and procedural issues under pressure
  • Learn to operate main GMCVB front desk switchboard, and relieve receptionist, as required
  • Additional responsibilities or special projects, as assigned

  • Education / Experience

  • Associates Degree or two years of college coursework
  • Two years responsible secretarial experience
  • Knowledge of workplace processes and procedures
